The Indian Journal of Agronomy (IJA) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Indian Society of Agronomy. It publishes original research articles, review articles, and short communications related to agronomy, which is the science of crop production and soil management. The journal covers various aspects of agronomy, including crop physiology, soil science, crop ecology, cropping systems, climate change, and agricultural economics. The journal has been in publication since 1957 and is considered to be one of the leading agronomy journals in India. This journal uses a double-blind review process.
The Indian Journal of Agronomy is not an open-access journal, but a subscription based journal. Journal doesn't charge article processing charges (APC), article submission fees, or surcharges based on the length of an article, colour illustrations, or supplementary data. To attract and publish many high-quality papers, the Indian Society of Agronomy instituted the Best Paper Award. These awards are announced annually in the Annual Convention of the Indian Society of Agronomy.
