A field experiment was conducted during 1997-98 to 2000-2001 at Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur, to assess the role of various agrotechniqes in yield and quality of ratoon crops. Amongst agrotechniques tested, stubble shaving + trash burning followed by irrigation and cultivation recorded the high- est cane yield (60.62 and 50.90 tonnesfha during I and II ratoon respectively), commercial cane sugar (7.74 and 7.74 tonnesfha), net returns (Rs 53,144fha) and benefit : cost ratio (3.86) compared to least cane yield (46.87 and 34.10 tonnesfha), commercial cane sugar (6.06 and 4.71 tonnesfha, net returns (Rs, 35,588fha) and benefit : ratio (2.74) recorded under the control.References
