Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during the the winters of 1987-88 and 1988-89 to study the effect of sulphur and nitrogen on yield attributes and seed yield of Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czernj. & Cosson] on Vertisol of Udaipur. N @ 60 kgha significantly improved the yield puameters, viz. siliquaelplant and seed yieldtplant and 1,000-seed weight during both the years and seeds/siliqua during 1987-88. This level of N wns also significantly superior to the other levels for seed yield during both the years as well as in pooled results. All the yield characters and seed yield showed a significant increase up to 100 kg S/ha. However, mode of sulphur application did not show significant effect on yield attributes and seed yield.
