Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during the winter (rabi) seasons of 1988- NO, 1080 00 and 1990-91 to tind out the most etfective and economical weed management practicc li)r hlontlc psyllium or isabgul (Plantago ovata Fors) crop. Hand-weeding treatments significantly supprcscetl thc wced growth and produced more seed compared with weedy check. Among herbicides, only isopro1un)n (pre- emergence application at 0 50 or 0.75 kg aiha) gave similar control of weeds lo lh;~t ofliend-wccding. Pre-emergence application of isoproturon at 0.50 kg ailha recorded the highest ncl inrrcmcni;~l cost: benefit ratio (1:9.20).References
