Abstract
A &ld experiment was conducted on light-textured soil (Typic Ustocrept) during 1991 -92 and 1992-93, to evaluate the effect of planting methods and nitrogen levels on growth characters and tuber yield of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) under drip irrigation. Flat-planting methods improved emergence-rate index, plant height and stem density. Potato tuber yield w q 4 7 5 2 2 . 0 and 26.8% higher under the treatments consisting of flat planting at 30 cm x 20 cm, 60 cm x 20 cm and single ridge planting as compared with double-row-ridge planting method, respectively. Potato response to N application at 60, 120 and 180 kg Niha was 77, 127 and 150 qiha respectively.References
