Abstract

. Results of an experiment conducted on sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) during rainy season (khan0 1993 and 1994 revealed that increase in N dose not only increased the leaf area, yield attributes and the seed and oil yields of sunflower but also increased the dry matter of weeds. However, significant increase in yield was recorded up to 60 kg Nlha. Suppression of weeds by weed-control measures resulted in better growth and development of sunflower. Pre-emergence application of pendimethalin increased the seed yield of sunflower by 56.4% over weedy check.
