A field experiment was conducted for two consecutive seasons (1 992 and 1993) at Crop Research Station, Pura of C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. The response of phosphorus and sulphur on yield and uptake of N, P and S by sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) was studied. The treatments consisted of four levels of phosphorus (0, 30, 60 and 90 kglha) and four levels of sulphur (0, 20, 40 and 60 kglha). The seed and stover yields of sunflower increased up to the highest levels of phosphorus and sulphur application but were significant only up to 60 kg P,Odha and 40 kg Slha. Application of phosphorus and sulphur increased the concentration as well as total uptake of N, P and S by sunflower in different stages of crop growth.References
