. A field experiment was conducted during the rainy season of 1996 and 1997 to study the efficacy of pendimethalin in controlling weeds in JS 72-280 soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.]. Weed population and weed dry matter were lowest and weed-control efficiency Mas higher in weed-free treatment, followed by 2 hand-weedings and pendimethalin 5 ~ @1.25 kglha. The highest seed yield was recorded with weed-free treatment which was at par with 2 hand- weedings and pendimethalin 30 EC @ 1 kglha.References
