Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, during the winter season of 1995-96 and 1996-97 with 2 dates of sowing (27 November and 27 December) and 12 varieties of wheat [Triticum aestivum L. emend. Fiori. & Paol.] (HD 2402, UP 2338, GW 19O, HUW 234, PBW 226, Raj 3077, Raj 3765, UP 2402, UP 2425, HS 240, LIP 2121), and LIP 2449. Late sowing reduced the grain as well as straw yield during both the years. Raj 3077 gave the highest yield, and UP 2121 gave the minimum.
