Response of Frenchbean (Phaseolus vulgaris) varieties to phosphorus and farmyard manure application

Received : March 2001 A field experiment was conducted during the rainy (kharif) seasons of 1996 and 1997 at Salooni, to study the response of 2 varieties of Frenchbean or rajmash (Phaseolus sadiatus L.) to phosphorus and FYM application under rainfed condition. Among the varieties, Jawala recorded the highest nuniber of podslplant, seedslpod, 1,000 seed weight and harvest index, which in turn reflected in higher grain and straw yields. Application of 50 kg P,O, with 10 tonnes of FYMlha resulted in the maximum plant height, podslplant, seedslpod and 1,000 seed weight and thereby higher yields.References
