A field experiment was conducted during two consecutive years (2017-18 and 2018-19) at Agricultural Research Station, Navsari Agricultural University, Hansot, Bharuch to study the response of sugarcane to tillage and different intercropping system under south Gujarat condition. The treatment comprising of three tillage treatments i.e. Sub-soiling (45 cm depth, 2 mtdistance) + Cultivation with cultivator, Deep Ploughing (22.5 cm depth) + Cultivation with cultivator and Cultivation with cultivator as main plots and four intercrop treatments i.e. Fenugreek,Gram, Indian bean and Control (No intercrop) as sub plots and laid out in split plot design with four replications. Sub-soiling (45 cm depth, 2 mt distance) + Cultivation with cultivator recorded significantly higher growth and yield attributes and also obtaining maximum net realization with its BCR. Quality parameters of sugarcane did not affect significantly due to different tillage as well as intercropping treatments. Intercropping of fenugreek, gram and Indian bean with sugarcane found non-significant effect on sugarcane yield.
